*The correct title of this article is xAIML-Spec. To avoid letting the initial letter be capitalized due to technical restrictions with WikiMedia, we have prepended a "*" (asterisk) to the title.

xAIML-Spec is an XML specification for describing xAIML functionality. Units of xAIML-Spec are intended to appear in two forms:

  • within annotation elements of an XML Schema, or
  • within insert or modify elements in a separate xAIML-Spec dialect document.

xAIML-Spec in XML Schema annotations

XML Schema provides an annotation mechanism for including information in an XML Schema that is intended to be read by humans or by programs. The documentation element is useful for including human-readable documentation. The appinfo element is a general-purpose container for including structured information that may be organized using foreign namespaces. An example of the latter use is the embedding of Schematron information in an XML Schema, resulting in a unified schema document that uses the power of both technologies.[1]
